Dear CP Families,

For those of you who have completed the 5 Essentials survey for CP- thank you! Please complete our survey here:    http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/

The survey opened on February 3 and will close on March 13, 2026.

This weekend we’re looking forward to our PTO’s Cultural Night from 5-7 p.m. in our gym. Forest Road and CP are partnering for this event.

Kindergarten Information Night is coming up next week on 2/26. We’d love to host incoming Kindergarten families from 6-7 p.m. in our LRC to share information about our school and programs.

Students have worked hard this week to stay focused on their classroom tasks and follow their Dolphin 3’s. We are proud of them!  Thank you for partnering with us this week to make CP an awesome place.

Take care,

Ms. Rodriguez

5Essentials Survey

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Students, teachers, and parents across Illinois have an opportunity to participate in the annual Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey is designed to provide important feedback about your child’s school. As a parent/guardian, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school efficacy, leadership, safety and academic programming.

The 5Essentials Survey is designed by The University of Chicago and administered online by UChicago Impact. The survey gathers data related to five indicators designed to  predict important student outcomes, including improved attendance and academic growth. The 5 Essential indicators that affect and predict school success are:

Effective Leaders

Collaborative Teachers

Involved Families

Supportive Environments

Ambitious Instruction

All District 102 teachers and 4th through 8th grade students will be responding to this survey. 5Essentials results are sent to schools and districts in May and are also  included in the Illinois School Report Card. District 102 uses the feedback from the 5 Essential results to monitor school and district improvement goals as stated in Vision 2030, our Strategic Plan.

D102 would like to ask all parents and guardians to complete the parent survey. If at least 20 percent of each school’s parents/guardians complete this survey, a separate parent report will also be generated for each school. The parent is not included on the State Report Card, but is reported out by the District as one of the metrics measuring our Strategic successes and areas that need improvement. Parent identities and survey responses are completely confidential and are never connected to you or your child.

The Illinois 5Essentials Survey for students, teachers, and parents will be conducted through March 13th. To take the survey please visit https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois/ and select the appropriate survey to begin.

For more information about the Illinois 5Essentials Survey, or to view previous years’ Reports, please visit https://www.5-essentials.org/illinois. Parents will need to create a personal account with 5Essentials to view school specific results. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact UChicago Impact Survey Support at 1-866-440-1874 or impact-surveys@uchicago.edu.
